Pictured above are the expansions of the Mongols throughout their reign of Eurasia during the Middle Ages. With no true defensive homeland, the Mongols were always on the offensive, invading new lands on a continental scale. The Mongols rose to prominence out of nowhere in Siberia with great horseback and archery skills.
Pictured above are the result of the empire splitting in 1294 into the Golden Horde, Ilkhanate, Yuan Dynasty, and the Chagatai Khanate. At this time, aggressive conquering of land at rapid pace had slowed quite a bit and the broken empire progressively lost power until 1368 when the last powerful leader was finished.
